Pro League Returns

This week saw the return of International hockey for Great Britain in the form of the FIH Pro League. GB were faced with away fixtures against the Netherlands and Belgium. The Womens selection saw 8 #TeamGrays players selected including Fiona Crackles and Emily Dark getting first call-ups and Miriam Pritchard and Holly Hunt being recalled. Maddie Hinch and Charlotte Watson missed out.
Jo Hunter equalised for GB in the first game against the Dutch to send the game to a shootout. Tess Howard made an excellent assist for Sarah Jones' goal in the first game against Belgium. An equaliser meant another shootout. This time GB took the bonus point.
The final game was Sarah Robertson's 50th GB appearance and she celebrated by scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 win. Fiona Crackles was awarded the Player of the Match award after appearing in all 4 fixtures.
GB Men selected Adam Dixon (Captain), David Condon and Rhys Smith. They faced 4 tough away fixtures against the Netherlands (3rd in rankings) and current World and European Champions Belgium (top of rankings). GB lost 1-0 and 3-1 to the Netherlands and by 3-2 and 2-1 against Belgium. David Condon scored in the final fixture.
