Grays AeroCore (AC) Hockey Sticks - Why Are They Right For You?

The most advanced and sustainable hockey stick range we have ever created. In the new AeroCore Collection, every element of the stick has been evaluated & optimised to provide the best performing sticks in Grays’ history, with an emphasis on extreme power – so, is the AeroCore range the secret to the best hockey stick for you?

What Makes the AC Collection Special?

Every detail of the AC Collection has been reimagined through countless feedback sessions with elite athletes. By using Grays Hockey’s unique aerospace-grade foam core technology we have ensured the perfect balance between emphatic power and ultimate control, while our advanced carbon layup technology provides durability and finesse.

And we haven’t stopped there.

Each of the bow shapes that Grays Hockey offers within the AeroCore range are strategic adaptations to our classic bows; Dynabow, Probow and Jumbow – giving players distinctive advantages in their overall game. Most notably, each stick has been designed with an unmatched thicker Lower Backhand Zone (LBZ), which allows players to master the reverse stick strike. Are you ready to take your skillset to the next level? Let’s break the shapes down.

Which Bow Suits Your Style?

Dynabow-S

Headed up by GB and England star Tess Howard MBE, this bow is designed for power whilst being strategically shaped for control - the ultimate blend of technology for players looking for that all round game playing stick. A redesign to the classic, sought after Dynabow sees a forward thinking reshape creating the Vertex playing head to enhance 3D skills, combined with the deafening force that the LBZ encompasses, contributes to a stick worthy of any player, in any position on the pitch. Available in our AC1000, AC700, AC500 and AC400 models.

Probow-S

Possibly Grays Hockey’s most exciting bow on offer, the Probow-S. Simply put, this revised bow is constructed with attackers in mind. Strategic bow and head ergonomics allows for greater control and pickup for 3D skills, aerials and drag flicks. Pair that with the LBZ and refreshed spine, you’re left with a stick that oozes power in every strike, slap and reverse hit.  The Probow-S is ideal for those players tailored for creativity and fast-paced play. As used by Spain captain Xantal Gine. Available in our AC900 and AC600 models.

Jumbow-S

Arguably the most eye-catching bow on the market, the Jumbow-S is emphatically designed to redefine the game. Specifically engineered with power in mind, the concentration of the bow is positioned towards the playing head, allowing a significantly later strike… What does that result in? Unrivalled Power. We couldn’t just stop there. The LBZ has been increased to maximise the sweet spot for the reverse stick strike - making it fly harder, faster and a lot more accurate. Available in our AC800 model only.

Explore the Full AC Range

While the AC1000, AC900, and AC800 head up the game-changing collection with elite-level performance, Grays Hockey have extended the range to include more accessible options like the AC700, AC600, and AC500 which essentially offer many of the same core technologies at a lower price point.

For younger or developing players, the AC700 and AC400 are both available in junior sizes with the direct view of delivering the AC innovation in youth-specific designs. The junior sticks are lighter, more forgiving, and ideal for perfecting foundational skills.

Player Insight: Tess Howard on the AC1000 Dynabow-S

"The first time I ever used this stick was against Scotland. Literally second minute of the game, pick the ball in the D, hit it without even thinking, and it went bottom corner. And I thought, ‘this stick has potential’. There's something about the less you try, the harder it hits. I've played with it for a few months now, and I'm starting to feel like it's second nature. I feel especially with the hitting and the amount of power you can get through the head, that this has been designed really for performance and to help you get the best out of your hitting ability.”

— Tess Howard, GB & England International

Sustainability in Sport

With a strong promise to support the push to increase sustainability within hockey, our Product Engineer Ian Thomas has this to say on the AC range;

“We’re proud to introduce our new solvent-free core construction across the AC Range (AC1000–AC700), setting a new standard for sustainable stick design. By eliminating solvents from the carbon fibre/resin process, we’re reducing environmental impact and creating safer, cleaner conditions for factory workers.”

Final Thoughts

The AeroCore Collection is nothing short of unique. It’s a movement within the game of hockey that has taken our innovation game to an unmatched level. If you’re a player looking for a stick with technology like no other, that delivers increased power and control, with a reverse stick edge destined to unleash unstoppable tomahawks - the AC range is the one.
