2. Master The Drag Flick with the JB+ Face 

Central to the market-leading design is the all-new JB+ face profile, a purposely engineered innovation developed to push drag-flicking performance beyond the capabilities of a traditional stick face. 

Designed specifically to optimise drag-flicking mechanics, the JB+ face features a refined geometry that promotes cleaner ball engagement throughout the entire drag flicking motion. This enhanced contact area helps players generate better ball speed, improved consistency and more accurate placement. Alongside this, Grays Hockey has introduced a pioneering 0% solvent core construction, reducing the environmental impact of production while improving factory working conditions. These developments ensure the JB+ range not only performs at the highest level but also reflects a commitment to more responsible manufacturing.  

Product Designer, Ian Thomas, explains: “A solvent-free core construction reduces environmental impact aligning with the commitment to a more sustainable future. The Plus range will be 0% solvent in carbon fibre/resin construction. A small amount of solvent (around 5% of stick weight) will be used for paints/decoration for the reason of durability, but no solvents will be used inside hockey stick. This will improve factory worker conditions and help the climate. This is a small step to improve the environment and particularly our factories where our hockey sticks are produced.”  

Ian Thomas also highlights the improvements made to the stick construction process: “In order to vastly improve the aesthetic look of the Plus range we have worked with the factory to produce a significantly better lay-up process for the inner and outer carbon fabrics of our Plus hockey sticks. This will result in less distortion of the fabrics on the sticks so that the final result is a much higher quality. The aesthetic quality of a hockey stick is directly linked to the stiffness and performance quality. At Grays Hockey we strive to improve both, to give our customers the best hockey sticks in the market today.”
